Somewhere in between
Sunday morning coffee
and finding a cool spot on my pillow,
I feel the warmth of your breath
on the back of my neck,
the weight of your arm and leg
wrap around my body
and your love pulls me in.
I could lay here forever
anchored on our boat in the harbour.
The storm is over
I am finally home.

The final signal
slipped away.
Until the end,
the signal was
his eyes, his voice:
A core of sadness,
An end and a beginning,
Photographs solving
how we think the world.
Its end is enthralling and maddening
An ocean of memories disintegrated,
melted...
The signal disappeared.
I cried.

time rises, and time falls, like a wave
I want to go back in time
I want to go back to childhood
I want to go back to when records didn’t break every year
I want to go back when there still seemed to be a future
I want to back to when there still seemed to be options
I want to go back to when there was still time
I want to take all my knowledge and wisdom
I want to create a map
so I can bring it to the little girl I once was

The retourne is a combination of the kyrielle and the glosa featuring four 8 syllable quatrains. There is no set rhyme scheme but the 2nd, 3rd and 4th lines of stanza one become the first lines of the following stanzas. Refrain scheme: x123 1xxx 2xxx 3xxx.
